MINISTRY GROUPS are groups that consist of men and women who serve or volunteer together at Generations on a regular basis.  They meet to serve, pray, and think creatively about their area of ministry.  Here are some good examples of ministry groups:

  1. The Staff

  2. The Board of Directors

  3. Worship Arts/Worship Band/Worship Media

  4. Treehouse/Nest Leadership

  5. Celebrate Recovery

  6. Hospitality & Greeters

  7. Other Volunteer

TO GET IN a ministry group, it’s often just a matter of showing up and getting on a schedule.  There are exceptions however.  For example, to serve in in our Children’s Ministry we require a background check and a meeting with our Children’s Director (see below).  Listed below are ways to serve at GC with contact information to get you connected to a ministry group:

  1. The Staff - If you feel that God has uniquely equipped you to serve on staff at a church, we’d like to hear from you.  Our staff includes paid positions (full and part time), as well as volunteer positions.  We will update this portion of the website when we begin searching for particular positions.  With questions regarding staffing, please contact our Lead Pastor, Troy Knight: email, 520-6037.

  1. The Board of Directors - These individuals serve the church by providing financial accountability and organizational oversight.  The staff rely on the unique skill set and knowledge base of these remarkable volunteers specifically when making finance and real estate decisions.  If you believe you would be of value to GC in this advisory capacity, contact our Lead Pastor, Troy Knight: email, 520-6037.

  1. Worship Arts/Worship Band/Worship Media - So you’re an artist, huh?  Well, God has equipped your heart to praise Him in ways many people don’t understand or simply haven’t thought of.  We respect that, and encourage artists to use their creative gifts to give God glory.  From drama to dance, signing to rippin’ up that guitar solo, and soundboard to video - we want to hear about your talent.  To share your talent or audition for the worship band, contact our Worship Arts Pastor, Keith Winstead: email, 269-6738.  For Worship Media, contact our Media Pastor, Wyatt Klein: email, 520-5909.

  1. Treehouse/Nest Leadership - Every week, the Nest and Treehouse operate with a large amount of volunteers who give their time and talents to help further our mission. If you have a desire to work with kids, then let us know! First download the Treehouse/Nest Volunteer Application PDF (right-click here to download and print) then email our Director Children’s Ministries, Tabitha Knight: email, 523-1194.  All Sunday volunteers go through training on our policies and procedures as well as a background check before serving.

  1. Celebrate Recovery - Has God brought you through a hurt, habit or hang-up?  Maybe it’s time to share your experiences, strengths and hopes with others who are going through the "Principles" in a Christ-Centered recovery.  We could use your heart and walk with Christ to encourage others to trust Him with their recovery.  To volunteer in CR as a leader, sponsor, or simply as a helping hand, contact our CR Director, Keith Winstead: email, or call the CR Hotline: 269-6738.

  1. Hospitality & Greeters - Our hospitality group is there to make people smile, answer questions, and give our first timers a “thank you for coming” gift.  From putting up signs, to greeting guests, to making coffee and organizing the a future Sunday Brunch, these volunteers have proven to be the frosting on the cake!  If you have a sweet spirit and a strong hand-shake (or maybe you just make a mean cup of coffee!) then you may have a place on the team.  To volunteer, contact Donna Sullivan: email, 454-9302.

  1. Other Volunteer - The truth is, whenever someone volunteers, they become a part of our ministry groups.  Some groups are more structured than others, but there are many more “fluid” groups of volunteers that are vital to our success as a church.  To help in any of these areas, contact Mark Easterly (email, 454-9302):

  2. Prayer - meets 9:30 every Sunday morning and prays for needs during early worship; growth groups are invited to volunteer to pray once every couple of months

  3. Setup & Strike Crews - they get there at 6am or stay until 12:30pm (the most fun you’ll have on a Sunday!)

  4. Ushers - individuals who take care of the needs of those in worship, from taking up the offering trays to setting up extra seating when needed.
